A Month To Go

Well it is now a month until we leave for Ecuador and I don't feel any more prepared than I did a month ago. And it looks like our calender is full right up until the day we leave.
I now have the prayer cards ready for anyone that wants one. Just let me know via email or phone and I'll send one out to you.
My sister, Tami, has organized a Music/Dessert night to raise funds for Ecuador. It will be Sunday, Sept. 9th at 6:30 p.m. at Elim Tabernacle. Admission will be by donation. There will be some entertaining music and a variety of desserts to choose from. Please come and join us. Gary will have some pictures and a short explanation of our trip there.

I guess our hot, humid July will have been a little preparation for our time in the Amazon. As always, I am debating what and how much to take , but if anyone would like to donate some things for the people in Ecuador, I will gladly try to fit them into a suitcase. Probably the sooner I receive them the better so we can shuffle things around during the packing stage. I am taking some blankets and the usual kind of "Christmas Shoe Box items" for kids there. I also am going to take some yarn, wool and needles, so that maybe Carly and I can sit and teach some knitting and crocheting to some of the women and girls.

Gary is still trying to find medical supplies to take. I went to Value Village and picked up another extra suitcase that we can leave there. Can we take it all in 10 bags? Maybe, maybe not.....

We are starting regular Spanish lessons via Rosetta Stone on Monday. Thanks Steph and Jamie! I don't remember alot from our trip 20 years ago. But the most common phrases I do remember are,"How are you ? and Where does it hurt?"

We are truly blessed. Our desire as always is to be used of God according to His will. Please remember us in prayer as we prepare to go!
